Passing on this excellent expression of Buddha's enlightenment received today from Gary Gach. Buddha's enlightenment is celebrated on this 8th day of the 12th month (rohatsu) in Japan and China. Not sure where else. Vesak in the spring is a more important holiday in Tibet, Mongolia, South and Southeast Asia and it covers birth, enlightenment, and nirvana.
