Thank You Dainin Katagiri

So far, our sesshin was very successful under the guidance of Dainin-san. I'm very much grateful to him for directing our sesshin. Tomorrow, Monday, he will give the final address for this sesshin.

Thank you very much.

Wanted to include this closing comment from Suzuki to remind how wonderful it was to have Dainin Katagiri with us at the SF Zen Center.

He selflessly served as Suzuki's backup and assistant with little thanks and recognition. It's not generally recognized what a significant contribution he made. We went to his lectures and met with him for dokusan, private interview, and worked with him and chatted with him and loved him and his wife Tomoe and the kids Yasuhiko and Ejyo. Katagiri and family moved first to Monterey south of San Francisco and then to Minneapolis to found a Zen Center there. He died in 1991.

Here's a page for Dainin Katagiri on cuke.com with links to other pages. Just starting it. There's lots on him here and there on cuke but will be gathering links to it here and adding more. - dc
