Mysterious

Here the translator's translation is "mysterious.” Mysterious does not mean, you know, something [laughing] mysterious. Mysterious means beyond words. It is not possible to say various understandings from all angles. If you say from one side, you cannot say, at the same time, from the other side. So that is why we say mysterious. So even an enlightened master cannot say anything properly.  ---------------------------------------------------- Excerpt from Shunryu Suzuki lecture 67-12-02 as found on shunryusuzuki.com. Edited by DC - Many Shunryu Suzuki lecture excerpts on cuke.com - from there links to much more. Going slowly through Suzuki transcripts featuring whatever is next that seems okay.
