Some of you are already helping indigenous Brazilians to plant trees in Amazon Rainforest to help reverse climate change. In the first year (ending June 30, 2023), we were able to raise enough fund to plant 5000 trees in the northwestern part of Brazil in two rainy seasons (April this year and next year). It’s a humble project compared with the vast and swift destruction of the forest. But humble is good. Humble is great. An infinite number of humble projects working together is the only way to ensure survival of humanity and the environment.

This is a very specific and effective way you can help to restore the Amazon Rainforest.
Since 1993, I have been volunteering for Inochi (meaning “life force”), a U.S. nonprofit organization based in Berkeley California, founded by Mayumi Oda. I serve at this time in the role as president.
Friends in Brazil searched for a transparent and reputable organization that has a history of successfully working with indigenous people—Amazon Reforest Alliance (ARA). ARA and Inochi have formed a partnership to carry out the Inochi Amazon Rainforest Project (please see the detail of ARA at the above web site.)
A representative of ARA along with two Brazilian friends of us spent a week in March 2022 visiting the indigenous community that plant seeds and seedlings. They also visited with their mentors in another tribe. A report of this trip is on our website.
I believe this is a viable and worthy project. Would you consider joining us or continue to work with us as a benefactor and/or encouraging others to work together with us? Donation can be made through www.inochi-trees.org/. We will email you a receipt and give you progress updates on our web site and via email.
Many individuals and organizations are working hard, conserving energy, recycling, and taking other actions. But each of us needs to do more. A single project cannot ensure the change that is needed. But if we develop a good prototype, others can replicate the project or initiate different projects with similar goals. Personal commitment, collaboration, and networking are crucial to solving the crises we face.
I look forward to working with you!
Love,
Kaz
